The objective of CAS@home, which is conceived as a one-year project involving several CAS institutes and start in January 2010, is to raise awareness of volunteer computing within CAS, and more widely within the Chinese scientific community. The project has three parts:
Organizing two hands-on volunteer computing workshops for CAS scientists
Launching three pilot applications to exploit volunteer computing for CAS scientists
Creating a website with essential information about volunteer computing for Chinese scientists
It is proposed that the project be led by a consortium of CAS institutes, including IHEP, ICT and CNIC.
